I was just barely 19... specifically 19yrs 1 month and 19 days old when I started working at my beloved Tantrum.
It wasn't in this darling building though, we moved here in 1994.
I have worked in this building for 17 yrs. It is longer than I have every lived in one spot. Though I am not about to calculate how much time I have actually spent there, I would imagine it is more than I have ever spent at home (even if you count the time I was sleeping).
This place feels so much like home, here the toilet doesn't feel like a foreign bathroom. You know how you will rush through a grocery store and pray that the line is short so you can make it home to your own toilet and avoid a foreign bathroom foreign???
Well this toilet feels like home!
I want to pay tribute to a wonderful boss, Mack, who's mission in life is to make a comfortable and happy working environment for his employees and who doesn't seem to think I am too bossy... weird. I have known him through thick and thin (hair). Purple suits and pleather pants. He has known me through thick and thin (waist lines) frizzy perms, and boyfriend after boyfriend.
{Mack. I am embarrassed to say that I scrounged to find a photo of him and ironically I only have this one where he is the client}
{This is where the magic happens, rarely do you get a glimpse of the back room... a magical place where you can find me on more than a rare occasion dancing 80s style .}
{This lamp is a tip I received from a client... whoot whoot... they know me well}.
Tantrum is truly my home away from home, and it is full of my best friends... clients and co-workers both... oh and literally a few are my family!
Thanks Mack and thanks Tantrum for all the love and fun you have been for the last 18 yrs. I am grateful to go back to the grind everyday.
