I was inspired by a young women's lesson on love and Christmas today.
As the lesson progressed I reflected on the blessings in my life.
I was reminded about what gifts I have been given.
Do you know that my oldest brother #2 is selfless? Did you know that he works 20 hour work days... doing things that aren't his duty? Did you know that he never says "NO". He is always the first to come and the last to leave. Did you know that he loves ALL his family unconditionally.
He is such an example to me. He is what a "real man" is.
He is the definition of worthy priesthood holder.
He makes it harder for the guys in my dating life to measure up.
His service is a gift.
I have the opportunity to take care of my grandfather every 3rd Sunday over night. I must be honest... I don't look forward to it. I sleep on the couch (I use the term really loosely).
It isn't hard work it is just inconvenient...and I may often times have to bear his reminders that "If (I) don't get married soon (I) will never be able to have children." Ha ha... but...
Did you know that this time allows me to tuck my grandpa in and treat him like a little boy. I get to see his sparkling blue eyes shine up at me when I get his pillow or his drink. Did you know that my love for him grows as I get to do this? Do you know that someday when he isn't here anymore,
I will treasure these few Sundays that I spent with him?
This time is a gift.
Do you know that Angels roam the earth? They are friends co-workers family and strangers. They are those whose little and large acts of kindness make life so much easier.
These angels are a gift.
Do you know that when I am long dead and so are these loved ones, I will be with them still? Did you know that I will be with my family for eternity? Did you know that Jesus Christ gave me this opportunity when he sacrificed himself because he loves me?
Eternal life spent with my true loved ones is a gift.
